Unique power transmission line
The Company has built a 12.8 km cable line, designed to connect INTERPIPE STEEL electric steel-melting complex with new “Pechnaya” substation and the Pridneprovsk thermal power plant. This 330 kV power transmission line is the first and unique ultrahigh-voltage cable line in Ukraine. While constructing this line, the Company as employed the state-of-the-art protection and insulation technologies from globally known power equipment manufacturers. The new power transmission line has been laid under the ground at the depth of more than one and a half meter, including the segment under the bottom of Samara River, using the horizontal drilling method. Application of new technologies and the optimal route of line laying have ensured the possibility to avoid any detrimental impact upon the environment and local residents.

New “Pechnaya” substation
"Pechnaya" substation is one of the key elements in the power supply system of the future mill. The 330 kV cable power transmission line runs exactly to this substation, which will arrange and coordinate uninterrupted operation of the whole system: Pridneprovsk thermal power station – cable power transmission line – "Pechnaya" substation – INTERPIPE STEEL electric steel melting complex.
The commutation equipment of the substation has been manufactured by global leaders in power equipment production – Siemens and ABB Companies. Currently Ukraine has no similar substations in the country, both in the technology level and the capacity. At that, "Pechnaya" substation has additional reserves to increase its capacities during the construction of the second stage of the mill.
